What is Harvest House?

We hope this video will give you a better idea of what we do here at Harvest House.  We used it to share with a church group a couple of weeks ago.

We encourage you to share it with friends and family as well!

Before you say that the attic is free of drugs and alcohol, I would check your staff members, most of them use drugs and/or drink themselves.

The Attic is meant to allow the kids a positive light. Yes, the kids may even be doing drugs and lieing about it to the Attic leadership. But that does not mean we rebuke them. Anyone can say “no” because that is easy. I only hope the Attic can help someone on using that they don’t need that addiction and there is better things, fun, and people who care about them and their health at the Attic. – help can also come from an outside source on this drug issue…

The kids are not lieing about the Attic leadership, I myself know the people of the Attic and their “leaders” and how they operate. I am not saying you do or dont rebuke them. Yes anyone can say no but I would not advertise a teen center as a drug and alcohol free place when the staff memebers that are supposed to be setting the example is not following that. There may be a few people at the Attic that actually do care for someones health and them themselves but from the stories I have personally experienced and heard, the so called “leaders” do not care about the well being of the kids that volunteer there or go through those doors for a show.

I think when they say the Attic is free from drugs and alcohol they mean the place. There is zero tolerance for drugs or alcohol in that space and they do their absolute best to make sure that it’s safe for young people to be. I know as an adult I had to fill out an application just to even volunteer there which included a background check and references. I’m sorry it sounds like you had a bad experience.

    To Tris,
The place itself may be drugs free but the volunteers there, not all are. If you were to check the cars of those said volunteers even, there would be evidence of drugs. I will give the place credit for actually changing the way they accept volunteers and not just letting anyone who wants to volunteer be able to. I have had more than five years of bad experiences with that place.
