Weddings and Prayer
I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:3-6
Last weekend we celebrated the marriage of one of the young ladies at Harvest House to her sweetheart on a beautiful afternoon. It was such a lovely wedding and they were so excited to finally be married! This is our third wedding day move out since Aaron and I came to Harvest House. It is such a bittersweet time because we will miss her here at the house, but we know she is moving onto fantastic new things with her husband!
After praying with the bride before the ceremony, I gave her photographer, Amanda, a long hug and just soaked in the moment. Amanda used to live at Harvest House and has been one of “my kids” for the past 13 years. We had other young ladies there that night who used to live at Harvest House or still live here. I was struck, as I often am, what a large and glorious family we have of adopted daughters! I told Amanda I only have two little girls who are nowhere near ready to be married, but I feel like I just keep giving daughters away.
Please pray for this young couple as they embark on this new life together! Please also pray for all our “adopted” daughters – the girls who will forever be a part of this family at whatever stage of life they are in!
