Ready to Jump?
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love and sound judgement. 2 Timothy 1:7
One of my crazy friends went bungee jumping this week. Just watching the video pretty much made me stop breathing. I’m not sure how far of a drop it was, but it was long enough to have time to rethink your life choices, that’s for sure. Anyway, in the caption of the video she shared the conversation she had with her instructor:
Me- “I’m not ready.” Instructor- “You’ll never be ready. Jump anyway.”
If that isn’t motivational, I don’t know what is! Too many times I live my life fearfully – not knowing what to exp
ect around the next corner. I second guess myself and wonder if I am making the right choices for my family, the young ladies who live here, and with all the roles God has given me in this life.
Recently, Aaron has been preparing a sermon on how all God’s promises are YES in Jesus and basic Biblical truths do not change. Knowing that, my mission hasn’t change. Although, sometimes my vision might. How I accomplish things might. Who is involved in my life might. But my mission? Still the same. Love God, love others. Go and make disciples.
I am thankful the faithfulness God requires is a choice for each moment and He continues to give me opportunities to line up my life with the things He is already at work in. I do not have to worry about what is coming next, I just focus on faithfulness with what is right here in front of me and I can jump knowing God has already gone before me. What about you? Are you ready to jump?
Have a blessed day,
Aaron and Elizabeth Kilby
