You're already loved.

And, “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters.” says the Lord Almighty 2 Corinthians 6:18

Hello Friend!

Aaron told me about a dream he had the other day. One where a young lady who was going through the admission process relapsed into old habits and was flippant about the effects on her life. He said he looked her in the eye and said “Elizabeth is going to be devastated.” In his dream, this young lady asked him why and he replied, “Because she already loves you.”

This particular young lady is one who makes me ask these questions… When was the last time she felt loved? When was the last time she felt safe? When was the last birthday where she felt celebrated? From what I understand, there is a big, empty void where pure love should be in her life. I want to throw her a birthday party for all the years she missed. I want to hug her and make sure she knows she is safe. I want her to feel loved with nothing required of her in return.

It reminds me of another time we found out a young lady had been sneaking around with a guy she randomly met on the street. When the truth sunk in, I sat down on the bottom of our steps and sobbed. The guy wasn’t the big issue, it was the broken trust. It was feeling like loving her in every way I could wasn’t enough to make her care. And it was hard.

Ya’ll, Harvest House is a beautiful ministry were the broken and lost are loved. Where the wandering are given rest. Where truth replaces lies over and over and over again. But it can be so, so hard. We can simply point to Christ and His love but there is absolutely nothing I can do to make them accept they are dearly loved children of God and to act on the freedom in that truth. Pray that they feel this love to the core of their being and they choose freedom from the pain that entangles them.

Have a blessed day,

Aaron and Elizabeth Kilby
