No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. 4 They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. 5 There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever. Revelation 22:3-5
I’m struggling a bit to write a newsletter. It seems silly, but just like most of you I’ve been at home for the better part of two months. I wake up every morning to parent my seven little ones, I field calls and texts from young women who need help of various sorts, and I try to make sense of the world around me. The last thing ya’ll need is my opinion on the state of the world although it seems to be all anyone talks about anymore.
I received a call recently asking about current events in light of the Bible’s description of end times. Now, I am not scholar in end times…in fact, I used to avoid Revelation like the plague because it frightened me. I still don’t spend a lot of time there but I do know this, we are in a time of waiting. The world is going to continue to look crazy to us because the Bible says it is going to happen. But as I told the young lady I spoke with on the phone, we do not have to fear because we know how it ends!
The truth? End times aren’t going to be pretty. They certainly won’t be comfortable. It may be in our lifetime or in a thousand years. We don’t know. But we DO know God is in control. He is in control of this current world situation. He is in control of how the world ends. He is in control of the timing of the baby arriving. He is in control of the test results and diagnosis. He is in control of the details of YOUR life and MINE. He has all the details in His control and we can rest assured.
Please continue to pray for the ministry as our thrift store reopens and as we serve the community around us.
Have a blessed day,
Aaron and Elizabeth
